ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION (EPD)
Artmatrix are, and will continue to address the latest environmental issues – reducing Carbon Footprint. With this aim, Artmatrix is working with Intertek (UK) to assess our product’s life cycle in order to minimize the carbon footprint with the Intertek’s Life Cylce Certification – Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
By measuring carbon footprint in our products, we believed that it will provide an avenue of greener products for our customer. Reducing carbon emissions in our products will not only be more environment-friendly, as well as be more responsible to our customer. Two of our products - workstations (E-Stilts) and seatings (XENIC) are rated with EPD.
In the future, Artmatrix is looking forward to continuously address more environmental issues and contribute positively to the environment.
Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) by Intertek
EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is a life cycle certification offered by Intertek. It is an independently verified and registered document that communicates transparent and comparable information about the life cycle environmental impact of products. The declaration is based on the principles set out in the international standard lSO14021 Environmental labels and declarations.
E-Stilts – the simple, ingenious, and adaptive bench, for entire range of application in open workplace. It is a re-configurable bench and suitable for any demands of office environment. E-Stilts, which constructed and structured to illustrate Strength, is also design and build to be more environmental-friendly. Materials sourced for E-Stilts are from highly reputable certified green sources to lower the corporate carbon footprint during the manufacture process.
Artmatrix uses carbon footprint (GWP) as a key corporate environmental metric: the life cycle carbon footprint of one Four-person E-Stilts workstation is: 237.9Kg CO2 equivalent. The workstation is for four users, so the carbon footprint is 59.5 Kg CO2eq per user. The environmental impacts of the product are relatively low (in line with expectations, given the inert nature of the materials used in the product).
